Welcome to the RCDS
Library
The mission of the
Klingenstein Library at Rye Country Day School is to support
the mission of the school. The library provides an atmosphere
conducive to study and a program of information skills where thinking, inquiry
and information literacy are emphasized.
We seek to develop independent learners who contribute positively to the
school community.
The library has two branches, the Lower School Library and the Middle/Upper School Library. A single, unified catalog (OPAC) serves both, and students, faculty, staff and parents are welcome to check books out from either branch.
The library collections include about 30,000 volumes, plus approximately 1300 videos, and 85 periodicals in hard copy, with access to hundreds of other reference sources and periodicals through e-books and online databases, covering the arts, sciences, history, biography, literature, general and scholarly periodicals and historical newspapers.
The Lower School Library is open throughout the school day for scheduled classes and drop-ins; the Middle/Upper School Library is open before and after school as well. The catalog and databases are available online 24 hours a day, from any Internet browser.
