The Rye Country Day School
Auxiliary
(Parents’ Association)
A Note from the President:
The Rye Country Day School Auxiliary
(Parents’Association) is an organization representing families in grades pre-K
through 12. Every current parent or guardian, as well as each faculty, staff
and administrator is automatically a member of the Auxiliary. The Auxiliary’s overall
mission is to foster the relationship between the parent body and the School
and to be in partnership to benefit the school community. Our parents’ association
has three main functions:
- To facilitate communication between parents and RCDS
- To develop and promote a strong sense of community and
school spirit
- To raise funds for Auxiliary programs and events for the
enhancement of school life
In addition to funding all of our own programming, the Auxiliary funds
scholarships, faculty professional development grants, equipment grants, RCDS
community events, Speaker Series/Heard in Rye, the directory and spirit
activities to name a few. Within the past few years, the Auxiliary has also
contributed over $850,000 to the capital campaign, including $250,000 for the
PAC construction project and $250,000 to underwrite a faculty chair endowment.
We encourage all parents and
guardians to get involved in the Auxiliary in some way. Volunteering is a
wonderful way to get to know fellow parents. More importantly, each of us is
unique and has something to offer the school community. Not only does the
Auxiliary and parent body benefit from your involvement but ultimately, you
play a part in enriching the school life of our children.
On the Parents page of the
Rye Country Day School website, you will find a description of the wide variety
of activities we know will match individual talents and interest. Please do not hesitate to contact any member
of the Auxiliary Board, the Division Liaison Coordinators or your grade level
Liaison with any questions, comments or suggestions.
As always, we thank you for
your interest and your support!
Regards,
Patti Connor
