R: RCDS is a wonderful community. What is your favorite thing about being a part of it?
I love learning all of the stories. Each time I sit down with someone, I find out a new and fabulous thing that they are working on, or a part of their story that helps me know them and their interests better. It is wonderful to be a part of such a vibrant community.
C: Currently, I am learning...
So many things! I am always reading about new coding platforms and edTech tools and expanding my coding toolbox. This year, I am teaching with p5.js for the first time, so I am learning that. I am also part of the Emerging Leaders Institute for NYSAIS, where I am learning more about leadership. I love to learn!
D: Describe what makes you proud of RCDS students?
I am proud when our students take ownership of projects that benefit our local community. Watching my AP CS A students teach pre-K students at Port Chester Head Start how to use robots was one of my proudest teaching moments to date, and I wasn't the one doing the teaching!
S: Superpowers. If you had one, what would it be and why?
I want to be able to teleport from one location to another! My family and friends are very spread out and I have a long commute. Wiggling my nose and appearing in a place would be wonderful!
