Middle School Leaders

Nearly forty members of the Middle School gathered after school for the first of ten leadership training sessions being offered by a new leadership program created by Middle School Social Studies teacher Susan Burns, and Athletics Office Administrator and Coach Elizabeth Bennett. The program, affectionally called "L2L" (Learning To Lead) is in its pilot year as a project through the RCDS Institute for Innovative Teaching and Learning.

During the first session, students wrote and performed skits showcasing examples of good leadership. They then debriefed about the roles they assumed within their group, and then discussed leadership strengths and weaknesses.

These fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade leaders are looking forward to developing their leadership skills throughout the year.
