The 2018 National Latin Exam was administered by the American Classical League to over 143,000 students from all 50 states and 24 foreign countries. Eighty-four Rye Country Day students in grades 7-12 were named award winners across many levels of achievement.
Students in grades 3 and 4 recently had the opportunity to present their integrated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) projects to the RCDS community.
Congratulations to the WildScats who took home 1st place at Gilda's Club A Cappella Extravaganza at Scarsdale HS.
The Rye Country Day School community sends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs. Barbara Pierce Bush. Mrs. Bush, a member of the RCDS Class of 1943, delivered the commencement speech in 1982 and continued her connection to and support of Rye Country Day throughout her life.
The spring weather has arrived allowing Pre-K students and their fourth-grade buddies to go on a scavenger hunt, looking for shapes around campus.
Kindergartners recently engaged in a study of homes around the world. After establishing the definition of a home, they investigated the styles and materials used to meet the need for differing shelters around the world. They also reflected on their own homes, inside and out. Synthesizing all that they had learned over the course of the study, the students each created a model home. A tremendous learning experience, and also a lot of fun!
