At the Blue & Gold Dinner on May 31, the Class of 2023 was officially welcomed into the RCDS Alumni Association.

Manager of Alumni Relations Melissa Mahoney Wirth ’97 opened the evening congratulating the soon-to-be alumni and encouraging them to stay in touch with the RCDS community.

Senior Class President Adam Kern ’23 and Student Body President Tyler Moyer ’23 toasted their classmates.

President of the RCDS Alumni Executive Board Scott Weiss ’96 announced official alumni status for the Class of 2023 and welcomed them to the extended RCDS family. He emphasized the value of the RCDS network and the importance of staying connected to each other and the School.

Tyler Moyer ’23, Adam Kern ’23, Madi Danquah ’23, Sami Penn ’23, & AJ Pisacano ’23 were announced as Class Agents. They will represent the Class of 2023 for years to come to facilitate their meaningful engagement with the School, their peers, and other alumni.

The evening’s student-nominated keynote speaker was Grade 10 Dean and Upper School English Teacher Ted Heintz.

A highlight of the event was a heartwarming video message from Kindergartners, giving advice to the college-bound seniors!

Head of School Randall Dunn offered closing remarks, congratulating the seniors on their many achievements at RCDS and thanking them for their leadership within the School community. “You have shown me what being a Wildcat looks like and the power that teamwork has to improve our community,” he shared.

Highlighting lasting benefits of the School’s tight-knit alumni network, Mr. Dunn said, “As you prepare to graduate, don’t look at it as the end of your RCDS experience, think of it as the beginning of your alumni-hood, which gifts you a lifelong connection to a community that will always be home. We will be here celebrating your achievements, offering support, and benefiting from your engagement through the years.”

Mr. Dunn also thanked Scott Weiss for his leadership and presented him with a special gift to recognize his dedication to RCDS. Mr. Weiss served as President of the Alumni Executive Board for the past six years and was an active board member for six years prior to his presidency. Nicole Fanjul ’02 will be Mr. Weiss’s successor as President of the Alumni Executive Board, starting in July.

The evening’s takeaway was an official Class of 2023 alumni hat for each of the 105 seniors!
