On Wednesday, January 25, Ian Tumm ’22, a goalie on Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings of the United States Premier Hockey League, Premier Division, was selected as a Midwest Region Player of the Week. Ian had a dominant performance in net for the Riverkings on Saturday, January 21, stopping 46 of 48 shots to lead the team to a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Squatch.

During his time as a student-athlete at Rye Country Day, Ian started in net as a freshman and received FAA Honorable Mention nomination after the Wildcats won the 2019 FAA Championship. As a sophomore, he led the team to back-to-back FAA Championships in 2020 and was nominated to the FAA All-League 2nd Team. Due to COVID-19, the team did not compete in the 2020-2021 season. During his senior year campaign, Ian led the Wildcats to an 11-4-1 record and was nominated to the FAA All-League 1st Team. At the 2021-2022 Winter Awards Night, he received the Stahlin Wildcat Award, which is awarded to the team’s most valuable player, a fitting ending to a fantastic hockey career at RCDS.
