On Saturday, March 29, Varsity Hockey Head Coach Steve Forzaglia, alumnus Geoff Exum ’03, and Upper School English Teacher Ted Heintz participated in a fundraising event to support LivFree, a Rye-based organization dedicated to assisting families impacted by pediatric cancer.
LivFree hosted a 24-hour hockey game fundraiser, which began at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and continued through 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. The event raised an impressive total of over $160,000 for this important cause.
Coach Forzaglia, Geoff, and Mr. Heintz set an initial fundraising goal of $4,500, but thanks to generous support of the RCDS and Rye Rangers communities, they exceeded their goal, ultimately raising over $11,000.
It was a meaningful experience exemplifying Rye Country Day motto Not for Self, but for Service.
