On November 28, the Office of College Counseling hosted the annual STEM in College panel via Zoom. The well-attended program provided insight into the numerous opportunities within STEM education in college and beyond. Panelists included college admissions officers, RCDS STEAM faculty members, and an RCDS alumnus currently studying STEM in college.
Giving counsel on pursuing STEM during their college years, panelists advised RCDS students and families to explore a range of interests and try new activities in order to find their passions. They also emphasized the value of seeking opportunities off campus or during the summer months. The panel encouraged students to rely on the self-advocacy skills they have learned at RCDS and assured them these skills will play a vital role in their work with college professors in a variety of research fields.
Thank you to our panelists and attendees for an informative and engaging discussion.
