Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities for alumni to get involved in the school community.

Career Mentoring and Internships
The Rye Country Day Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to coordinate with alumni and parents who would like to extend career opportunities and internships to current students or graduates. Please complete this form, and we will post and distribute the information provided as deemed appropriate. In addition, if you are interested in becoming a mentor for a recent graduate in your industry, please contact Melissa Mahoney Wirth ‘97, Manager of Alumni Relations, at 914-925-4525 or melissa_wirth@ryecountryday.org.

RAMP: Resilience in Alumni Mentor Partnerships
This is a program that builds meaningful connections between alumni mentors and Upper School students who identify as People of Color (POC). Alumni POC mentors are a valuable resource who provide support, counsel, and community for students of color during their years at RCDS and beyond. Sign up to become a mentor and meet current RAMP mentors here. Learn more about three sets of RAMP mentors and mentees on page 36 of the Spring 2021 issue of The Bulletin here

Alumni Executive Board Committee
The Rye Country Day Alumni Executive Board Committee acts as an ambassador of the School to the broader alumni community. Members preserve, encourage and stimulate loyalty and support for Rye Country Day School as a whole, foster strong relationships between the School and its alumni, and promote interaction of the alumni in the affairs of the School through alumni participation in activities and philanthropic support.  If you are interested in joining the Alumni Executive Board Committee, please contact Melissa Mahoney Wirth ‘97, Manager of Alumni Relations at melissa_wirth@ryecountryday.org.

Annual Fund Volunteer
Gifts to the Annual Fund sustain Rye Country Day’s commitment to excellence. As an independent school, we rely on gifts from across our community to help bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of providing an RCDS education to our students. To help the School raise these crucial funds, parent and alumni volunteers work together with the Office of Advancement in reaching out to the community to encourage annual giving. The time and dedication of Annual Fund Volunteers are essential to building meaningful philanthropic support for the School. If you are interested in becoming an Annual Fund Volunteer, please contact Melissa Mahoney Wirth ‘97, Manager of Alumni Relations at melissa_wirth@ryecountryday.org.

Reunion Committee
Members of the Reunion Committee are an integral part of reconnecting alumni, both with their classmates and with RCDS. Through networking, updating classmates’ contact information, planning class-specific gatherings, and promoting events through phone calls, emails, letters, and social media, Reunion volunteers encourage classmates to take part in the festivities, generating strong reunion attendance and fostering a fun and successful event. If you are interested in becoming a Reunion Committee Member, please contact Melissa Mahoney Wirth ‘97, Manager of Alumni Relations at melissa_wirth@ryecountryday.org.

Alumni Class Agents
Class Agents serve an important and highly visible role for Rye Country Day, facilitating communication between alumni and the School. Acting as the voice of their classmates, these volunteers solicit and submit Class Notes, provide updated information on alumni, and often serve on their class Reunion Committee during milestone reunion years. Class Agents are also asked to make annual gifts to Rye Country Day to the best of their ability, demonstrating their continued commitment to the School.
