This is a program that builds meaningful connections between alumni mentors and Upper School students who identify as People of Color (POC). Alumni POC mentors are a valuable resource who provide support, counsel, and community for students of color during their years at RCDS and beyond. The Rye Country Day Alumni Executive Board Committee acts as an ambassador of the School to the broader alumni community. Gifts to the Annual Fund sustain Rye Country Day’s commitment to excellence. As an independent school, we rely on gifts from across our community to help bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of providing an RCDS education to our students. To help the School raise these crucial funds, parent and alumni volunteers work together with the Office of Advancement in reaching out to the community to encourage annual giving. Members of the Reunion Committee are an integral part of reconnecting alumni, both with their classmates and with RCDS. Through networking, updating classmates’ contact information, planning class-specific gatherings, and promoting events through phone calls, emails, letters, and social media, Reunion volunteers encourage classmates to take part in the festivities, generating strong reunion attendance and fostering a fun and successful event. Class Agents serve an important and highly visible role for Rye Country Day, facilitating communication between alumni and the School. Acting as the voice of their classmates, these volunteers solicit and submit Class Notes, provide updated information on alumni, and often serve on their class Reunion Committee during milestone reunion years. Class Agents are also asked to make annual gifts to Rye Country Day to the best of their ability, demonstrating their continued commitment to the School.
