From June 11-14, Izzy Bernie '28, Alex Greenberger ’29, Tyler Hatstadt ’26, Marlena Massuci ’26, Valentina Platt-Higgins ’29, Arav Ramaswamy ’26, Nicholas Riley ’27, Devon Smith ’26, and Juliet Tuncer ’27 all participated at the USRowing Youth National Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. 

Tyler Hatstadt ’26 and Nicholas Riley ’27 captured the gold medal in the Men's 2V 8+ event while racing for Greenwich Crew, posting a winning time of 6:06.40. The victory marked the first gold medal in Greenwich Crew history in the Men's 2V 8+ event and was the first time in five years that any team has defeated Marin Rowing Association. 

Marlena Masucci ’26 captured gold with RowAmerica Rye in the Women's Youth 8+ event, posting a winning time of 6:40.75 to help her crew claim the national championship in the premier event. Building on that success, Marlena represented her team internationally in July at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England.

Alex Greenberger ’29 earned a silver medal while racing for Greenwich Crew in the Men's U17 8+ event, finishing in 6:15.52. Juliet Tuncer ’27 also claimed silver with RowAmerica Rye in the Women's Youth 2V 8+ event, posting a time of 7:00.16 as the crew became the second-fastest Women's 2V boat in the country.

Valentina Platt-Higgins ’29 added a bronze medal for RowAmerica Rye, placing third in the Women's U16 8+ event with a time of 7:27.10. Arav Ramaswamy ’26 and Devon Smith ’26 raced together for RowAmerica Rye in the Men's Youth 4− event, winning the D Final with a time of 7:14.10. 

Izzy Bernie '28 competed for Greenwich Crew in the Women's U17 8+ event and finished third in the B Final clocking in at 7:21.90. 

The USRowing Youth National Championships are one of the premier junior rowing events in the country, bringing together the fastest youth crews from clubs and schools across the United States. Boats qualify through highly competitive regional and state championship racing, so reaching Nationals is already a significant achievement.

The championship is held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, a world-class rowing venue that has hosted numerous national and international events. The regatta features many of the best youth rowers in the country across a wide range of events and age categories, including varsity, second varsity, Under-17, and Under-16 competition.
