Ninth Grader Charlotte Crowley ’28 sailed as part of the team representing the United States at the 36th annual Opti Team Cup in Berlin, and her team took fifth place out of 13 teams. USODA (United States Optimist Dingy Association) is the governing body for the US Opti class, the largest sailboat class in the world.

Charlotte qualified after attending the USODA Nationals this past summer in Sandusky, Ohio. Out of 22 teams competing, Charlotte’s team (Lisot Black) earned a spot to represent the USA at the 36th Opti Team Cup Berlin.

This was an exciting achievement for Charlotte as the three-day event marked her final Opti Team regatta (Opti’s age limit is 15).

Hosted by the Potsdamer Yacht Club, the renowned international race took place at Lake Wannsee in Berlin, Germany, from October 17 to 20.
