2024 June Sports Camps

At the start of every summer, Rye Country Day athletes have the opportunity to participate in an intensive week of training for a specific sport with RCDS coaches.

Grades

Rising Grade 5 through Grade 12 Rye Country Day students, as well as incoming students, are invited to register.

Dates

Team Camps Week 1: Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14, 2024

Strength & Speed Camps Week 2: Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21, 2024 (RCDS will be closed for Juneteenth)

Times

The June Sports Camps will run daily, Monday through Friday. Times will vary per camp.

Registration

Online registration for 2024 June Sports Camps will be open from Wednesday, March 27, 2024 through Friday, May 24, 2024. Shortly after registering, you will receive an email confirming that your registration has been received. If a camp is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified as soon as possible, and your account will not be charged.

NEW FAMILIES: In order to participate in June Sports Camps, you will need to complete a waiver form during the registration process.

Payment and Financial Aid

Payment

The fee ranges from $155-$300 per camp. Payment will be billed directly to your RCDS account. Please do not send payments by check, as all camp fees will be charged to your school account.

Financial Aid

A part of every current RCDS student’s financial aid grant includes one Wildcat Mini-Camp (1 week) OR one June Sports Camp (1 week) billed at the same percentage as your student’s financial aid grant for tuition. Families will not be billed at the time of registration. Additional camps will be billed at the full cost.

Medical Information

Parents/guardians should review the full RCDS Health and Safety policies, which include sections on travel, illness, and COVID exposure prior to the start of camp.

CURRENT FAMILIES: Please ensure that your child's medical information is up to date in Magnus before they begin camp. Our instructors will rely on the information available within Magnus for emergency contacts/allergy information/etc.

NEW FAMILIES: In order to participate in June Sports Camps, you will need to complete all components of Magnus, Rye Country Day's online health management system. You will receive access to Magnus in May 2024. If you have any questions about accessing Magnus or have concerns about your ability to complete the required health forms before camp begins, please contact Patrice Brophy, School Nurse, at patrice_brophy_ryecountryday.org.

Everyone is welcome! Come and learn to play field hockey, or join us to sharpen and master your skills. Every session includes skill development and game play.

Suggested Equipment: Stick, water bottle, t-shirt, shorts. Mouthguard and shinguards are required. Loaner sticks will be available.

Girls' Ice Hockey

Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Girls' Ice Hockey camp is dedicated to those who are interested in playing Ice Hockey. We will work on Ice Hockey related skills, stick handling, passing, and shooting in the form of ball hockey. We will partake in workouts as well as team building activities.

Suggested Equipment: Hockey stick, sneakers, t-shirt, shorts, water bottle.

Strength & Speed Camp is for rising Grades 7-8 students who want to improve athletic performance or personal fitness. We will educate students on effective training techniques from Bigger Faster Stronger and the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Knowing the correct exercises, sets, repetitions, and rest periods will positively affect your program. Improving speed, agility, and quickness can make anyone a better athlete.

Suggested Equipment: Sneakers, t-shirt, shorts, water bottle

Upper School Camps

This program is a great opportunity for participants who are interested in playing basketball in the winter season. Players will be working on speed training and technical tactical skills in a fun environment.

Cross Country

The RCDS Field Hockey program is excited to offer this camp. The camp goals are to provide a positive teaching environment that allows each athlete to improve their individual skills and understand game concepts, while enjoying the game of field hockey.

Suggested Equipment: Stick, water bottle, t-shirt, shorts. Mouthguard and shinguards are required.

Time: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This program is a great opportunity for participants who are interested in playing football in the fall season. Players will be working on speed training and technical and tactical skills in a fun environment.
