LEGO League Achievement!

A team of students in Grades 4-6 recently participated in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition in Warwick, New York. Since October, the RCDS team has been preparing to compete in three, judged presentations: 1) designing and programming a robot to complete FLL missions; 2) creating an egg-free recipe book to alleviate problems related to industrial egg farming; and 3) a poster reflecting on Core Values, including "gracious professionalism," "sharing," and "friendly competition." In its first year participating, the RCDS team took home the Team Spirit Award, as voted on by the other teams who competed. Joanne Ciuccio, middle school computer science teacher and FLL coach, responded, "We are very proud to have earned this award in our pilot year, and look forward to next year's challenge!"
