Cohen Fellowship
Through yearly Cohen Fellowship for Excellence & Innovation grants, Rye Country Day School actively advances the School’s commitment to pedagogical excellence and continual professional growth for employees. Each $10,000 grant affords Cohen Fellows the opportunity to develop their passion for education and stay current in their individual fields through innovative knowledge acquisition. The experiences afforded by the grants will serve to enrich the entire school community by rewarding and supporting continued excellence, innovation, dedication, and growth for employees advancing the mission of the School.
Through the personal and professional endeavors associated with the receipt of this award, Cohen Fellows help the School to build upon its tradition of excellence through creativity and innovation. Grants include a cash stipend of $5,000 for personal use and a grant of $5,000 for pursuit of a professional learning experience of the recipient’s choice and to be completed within one year from the date of the fellowship.
All RCDS employees who have worked at the School for a minimum of three years are eligible for selection. Fellowship recipients are chosen by the Cohen Fellowship Selection Committee (comprised of RCDS senior administrators, a representative of the Cohen family, and a Cohen Fellow from the previous year’s cohort) for their notable work with or on behalf of students; their instructional, professional, or community innovation; their commitment to ongoing professional development in support of the School’s mission; their positive relationships with all community members; and their enthusiasm for the vibrant and continued strength of the School.
