Mindfulness Toolkit for Educators (2017-18)
How might we support teachers in implementing mindfulness practices and give students the strategies to promote emotional well-being?
Our Goal
Develop and provide a mindfulness toolkit for teachers to use in their classrooms, and work with faculty to incorporate consistent daily mindfulness practices with a shared vocabulary across grade levels. The toolkit will provide for a variety of practices including meditation, breathing, stretching, focusing, and calming activities all of which will contribute to a positive classroom environment supportive of social and emotional well-being.
Resources
Research shows that mindfulness practices decreases stress, attention deficit issues, depression, anxiety, and anger, while also benefiting health, well-being, social relations, and academic performance.
