Science Success Tool Kit: Aligning the Middle, Upper and Entrance Transitions (2023-24)
How might we, the Science Department, ensure the successful transition of current Middle School students and new students to RCDS into ninth grade so that they have the science skills necessary to succeed in the Grade 9 Biology and beyond? By creating a “Science Success Toolkit,” we hope to help RCDS better understand the specific Science and Engineering Practices, as defined by the NGSS, that are necessary to thrive in Science at RCDS. This toolkit will help us to identify areas of student strength and challenge and understand better where our lessons are meeting and/or surpassing the criteria for student-centered instruction.
