Rye Country Day students have been onsite with local organizations this summer working on their Community Engagement Fellowship projects.
This year’s projects cover a range of project-based experiences including installing spotted lantern fly traps at the Rye Nature Center, creating translation services for senior citizens at Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Services, and teaching various subjects and activities at organizations in the Westchester and Fairfield County areas.
This annual Public Purpose program invites students to propose, design, and implement innovative, purpose-driven projects that address the needs of their selected organizations. The result is meaningful summer volunteer opportunities that foster ongoing community connections and encourage active citizenship.
