2026 Graduates Recognized for Commitment to Service

Frank Zingg ’26 and Joseph Rafferty ’26 were recognized by the Rye City Council on June 10 for their commitment to serving the nation through military service after graduation.

The recognition was part of the City Council's annual acknowledgment of Rye Country Day School graduates pursuing service academy appointments and military leadership pathways. Frank has accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, where he will begin his preparation for a career of military service and leadership. Joseph has accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he will pursue a similar path of service and play lacrosse.

The recognition celebrates the students as they take the next steps in their educational and professional journeys, pursuing opportunities that reflect a commitment to leadership, service, and making a meaningful impact on their communities and country.

“We are incredibly proud of these students for choosing a path rooted in service, leadership, and commitment to others,” said Upper School Principal Jenny Heath.  “Their decisions reflect the values we strive to instill at RCDS, and we are proud to see them carry our motto, Not for Self, but for Service, into the next stage of their lives.”

This recognition comes during the nation's 250th anniversary year, a wonderful time to honor these young leaders who have chosen to dedicate themselves to service and civic engagement.

Congratulations, Frank and Joseph, and we wish you all the best as you embark on the next stage of your journeys!
