In July, Rye Country Day School’s ACTION program celebrated its 41st year, serving 65 dedicated students who are entering seventh, eighth, or ninth grade in neighboring public school districts.

Throughout the four-week enrichment program on RCDS’s campus, the students participated in project-based courses across core academic disciplines, building new skills, exploring their interests, and continuing their academic growth.

This year’s course offerings included:

• Art
• Gardening with Math
• Leadership & Innovation
• Physical Education
• Entrepreneurship: The Mythic Forge
• Theater
• Lights, Camera, ACTION

ACTION participants also took their learning beyond the classroom. New this year was an interactive day at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT, alongside the annual tradition of visiting the Boundless Adventures ropes course in Purchase, NY. 

“We were thrilled to have a roster of bright and talented students who arrived each day excited to experience the creative curriculum put together by our RCDS faculty members,” shared ACTION Co-Director Ethan White.

“For more than four decades, the ACTION program has combined rigorous, project-based education with hands-on experiences to help motivated students discover what they are capable of achieving,” reflected ACTION Co-Director Jason Leath. “Watching our students grow in confidence, curiosity, and character over just four weeks is what makes this program so special, and it’s a privilege to welcome a new class of future leaders each summer.”
