The 2023 Upper School Musical, The Addams Family, was nominated for six Metro Awards. The Metros, as they are called in the theater community, honors high school musicals in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Bergen counties. This year, the program returned after a three-year pandemic hiatus with 56 competition entrants: 25 schools from Westchester, 23 from Bergen, five from Rockland, and three from Putnam.

RCDS was nominated in categories recognizing student actors and crew, as well as faculty members, for their exemplary theatrical contributions:

• Outstanding Performance of a Production Number: "When You're an Addams"
• Outstanding Acting Performance by a Male-identifying Performer: Adé Larsen ’23
• Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design: Jac-que Robinson and Steven Loftus
• Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Design: Jac-que Robinson
• Outstanding Achievement in Hair and Makeup Design: Casey Hallen
• Outstanding Student Technical Achievement: Olivia Craig ’23, Tati Leonard ’23, and Sydney Merrill ’23

As has been the tradition, the Metro Awards ceremony will be held the night after Broadway’s Tony Awards, which is Monday, June 12.
