Back in April, Upper School students in AP Environmental Science took their annual field trip to the Blind Brook in Rye to conduct water quality tests.
With the stream being so close to campus, the classes walked over to collect water samples, look for invertebrates, conduct water quality tests, and collect trash in the area. The tests included taking the temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, and turbidity levels of the water.
The trip served as a real-life experience for students to further understand the impact of pollution on local waterways as part of their unit on aquatic pollution.
