Art, Nature, and Discovery: Grade 4 Visits Storm King Art Center

In May, fourth graders spent a day immersed in art, nature, and discovery at the open-air galleries of Storm King Art Center in the Hudson Valley.

The visit to the renowned 500-acre outdoor museum gave students the opportunity to experience monumental sculptures and site-specific installations firsthand. Throughout the year in art class, students studied several of the artists featured at Storm King, exploring themes such as scale, abstraction, materials, and the relationship between art and environment. Seeing the works in person allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world artistic experiences.

The experience also offered a meaningful moment for the fourth graders as they prepared to conclude their Lower School journey. A wonderful way to create lasting memories through exploration and creative inspiration!
