Building One Community Volunteer Director Margarita Zimmerman Visits Grade 7 Students
Building One Community Volunteer Director Margarita Zimmerman visited RCDS in May to speak with seventh graders about immigration. Based in Stamford, CT, Building One’s mission is to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families. The discussion was especially interesting to the students, who had just read the nonfiction graphic novel Almost American Girl: An Illustrated Memoir by Robin Ha, which chronicles the author’s immigration journey, the importance of belonging, and the search for identity.
