A Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 12 coeducational independent day school in Westchester County, New York

Decennial NYSAIS Accreditation

In 2022-23, Rye Country Day will undertake the comprehensive self-study that leads to our decennial NYSAIS accreditation, which involves a holistic review of our Pre-K – Grade 12 curriculum, as well as our school operations and policies. The results of the year-long self-study will be relayed to and reviewed by a committee of esteemed peers, led by an independent school head, who will come to RCDS in October of 2023 for our Decennial Accreditation Visit. This follows our Five-Year Accreditation Visit in 2017 (the School received a one-year extension due to the pandemic).

Accreditation is a process that affirms our academic and organizational accountability at the highest standards as an independent school in New York State. This coming year’s self-study is a critical part of the process, as it prompts us to examine our school through the lens of how we deliver on our mission in everything we do. This work happens under the guidance of the Self-Study Steering Committee, which creates Self-Study Subcommittees comprising every employee of the School.

The Steering Committee will be co-chaired by Assistant Heads of School Meredith deChabert and Pam MacAffer. By design, the Head of School does not play a major role on the Steering Committee but rather serves as an ex officio member.
