Felix Mao ’27 Named Gold Medalist, Ellen Chen ’24 and Melody Wu ’28 Named Silver Medalists in 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Ellen Chen ’24, Felix Mao ’27, and Melody Wu ’28 were recently named National Medalists for their works of art in this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing Awards:
- Ellen Chen ’24 - Dance with Her (Painting) - Silver Medal
- Felix Mao ’27 - Trapped (Mixed Media) - Gold Medal
- Melody Wu ’28 - Technical Barrier (Editorial Cartoon sponsored by the Herb Block Foundation) - Silver Medal
Ellen, Felix, and Melody qualified for this national recognition after winning awards in the regional round. Known as the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in Grades 7 through 12, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are judged by luminaries in the visual and literary arts.
