Rye Country Day School’s Flik Dining Services Team has completed its recertification as a 3-Star Certified Green Restaurant by the Green Restaurant Association.
In order to gain recertification, RCDS’s Flik was required to earn enough “GreenPoints” through environmental initiatives implemented in the following categories: energy, water, waste, reusables and disposables, chemicals & pollution, food, building & furnishing, and education and transparency. These eco-friendly initiatives are the result of an ongoing partnership between RCDS’s Flik Dining Services Team and the School’s Sustainability Committee.
The Green Restaurant Association’s mission is to shift the restaurant industry towards ecological sustainability. Green-Certified Restaurants provide a transparent way to measure environmental accomplishments and standards.
