Fourth Graders Explore Rhythm and Movement in Music Class

Peek into the Lower School Music Room!

Fourth graders enjoyed learning about rhythm and movement to the soundtrack of “Golden” from the Netflix film “K-Pop Demon Hunters” in music class.

Dancing to the hit tune helped the students focus on the beat, strengthen their sense of rhythm, and connect the steps into a complete sequence.

Fourth graders then played “Extra Beat Take a Seat,” a cooperative-elimination game where students play a rhythmic pattern a set number of times and take a seat if they play the pattern too many times.

The activity reinforced steady tempo, silent counting, and close ensemble listening as students monitored their repetitions while staying together.
