Last week, twelfth graders participated in a two-day Fall Senior Retreat hosted by the Grade 12 Deans, who are also RCDS’s College Counselors. The students spent time reviewing the overall college application process and the Common Application. They also dove into their supplemental writing submissions. Guided by their deans, the seniors began writing about the areas of study they hope to pursue in college. After the writing session, students met with RCDS faculty members representing their disciplines of interest to gain a deeper understanding of the various collegiate pathways in those areas of study.
The retreat is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to connect with each other, their deans, and their teachers, while building on the college process work they began in junior year.
“The Fall Senior Retreat gives our twelfth graders the chance to ask questions and hear and think about what is on the minds of their peers. This program is designed to pick up right where the students left off during their junior seminar. Now as seniors, they are able to put into practice the many ideas and techniques they learned last year. We’re excited for the work ahead as this terrific class prepares for college application season.”
