At the annual Grade 4 Inspirational Figures Hall of Fame, students shared projects connecting various disciplines, skills, and ideas. After selecting and researching a person who has made meaningful and inspiring contributions to the world as an activist, humanitarian, or pioneer, each fourth grade student created a one-minute presentation, which they delivered to faculty, families, and friends in the PAC.
The unit strengthened students' research and writing skills—they read non-fiction books and wrote persuasive paragraphs about their chosen figures. Students also applied the creative arts to their projects by creating sculptures of their chosen figures. Lastly, the showcase helped students practice their public speaking skills. Selected Inspirational figures included Marie Curie, Louis Braille, and Barack Obama, among others. Congratulations, Grade 4, on this wonderful project and learning exhibition!
