The fourth grade enjoyed a visit to Teatown Lake Reservation in nearby Croton, NY last Friday to learn more about the culture of the Lenape tribe. The reservation boasts a replica Lenape village, complete with a wigwam, longhouse, and artifacts.
In addition to exploring the Lenape village, the fourth graders learned interesting facts about daily life in the Lenape tribe, from cooking with heated river rocks to softening handmade clothing.
The best part of the day? The fourth grade loved playing traditional Lenape games and creating their own hoop and stick game.
