Grade 6 Computer Science Students Learn About Computing Technology
Grade 6 computer science students are learning about the history of computing technology—from the ancient Abacus and Charles Babbage’s hand-cranked “Difference Engine” to vacuum tubes, transistors, and modern home PCs! Participating in a “computer archeology” project, students took apart old computer systems and identified key components such as the motherboard, CPU, power supply, and memory. The experience of seeing the computers up close helped students understand how technology has changed over time and how it will evolve in the future!
