An RCDS tradition that students in Grades 2 through 4 always look forward to is the annual Winter Concert and Ice Cream Social. Each grade rehearses throughout the school year to perform a selection of songs. In addition to singing, students played the recorder, ukulele, and percussion instruments.

After the performance, students and their families enjoyed an ice cream social sponsored by the Parent Association.
