In SummerSing 2026, Festival Chorus Members Bring Fauré’s Requiem to Life

On the evening of June 24, 24 members of the Festival Chorus came together in the RCDS Choir Room for the annual SummerSing to explore Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.

Under the direction of RCDS Music Department Chair Mary Marcell and with the accompaniment of Piano Teacher, Keith Burton, the singers first enjoyed a focused rehearsal before taking on the full work. The culmination of the evening came when the chorus sang the entire 35-minute masterpiece from beginning to end.

“The Festival Chorus SummerSing is a wonderful celebration of music-making and RCDS bonds,” shared Ms. Marcell. “It’s such a special way to gather in community!”
