Earlier this week at Upper School Community Meeting, the Jewish Community Circle (JCC) recognized International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The club also announced plans to share stories of hope and survival from last year’s Common Circles Exhibit on the Upper School division’s Schoology message board.

The first story shared chronicles the remarkable journey of Ina and Jaap Polak, who reconnected and fell in love in the Westerbork and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps before being liberated in 1945. Their story was made into a documentary and an opera entitled “Steal a Pencil for Me.”
