Legacy Luncheon Shows Strong Bonds of the RCDS Experience

In May, Rye Country Day’s Office of Alumni Relations hosted the second annual Legacy Luncheon providing a special  opportunity for generations of alumni families to connect on campus.

Generations of alumni families gathered in the PAC Foyer and reflected on their RCDS bonds and experiences. Head of School Randall Dunn greeted the esteemed guests sharing that 65 alumni are current parents at the School, with 121 grandchildren who are currently attending or have graduated from RCDS.

“These 121 Wildcats have a unique journey at this school, embracing the rich traditions and shared values that helped to shape their parents—and in some cases even their grandparents—while experiencing it all through a fresh, yet familiar, perspective,” said Mr. Dunn.

To the parents and grandparents who make intergenerational RCDS bonds possible, Mr. Dunn expressed deep gratitude and emphasized “Your legacies are a powerful testament to Rye Country Day’s enduring tradition of excellence.”

Student Body President Emily Cheigh ’25 also gave moving remarks about her experience attending RCDS from Grade 1  through Grade 12, along with her two older brothers, Andrew ’23 and Justin ’20. Emily described the profound impact of the School’s hallmark sense of community and her appreciation for being a part of a proud RCDS family.

It was a truly beautiful afternoon celebrating the lasting, meaningful sense of connection within the RCDS community.
