Students in Grade 2 recently experimented with the PiktoTape Method, a collaborative form of tape art. PiktoTape is a type of tape designed specifically for artists, and its elasticity allows for the creation of smooth curves to facilitate “drawing.” In addition, PiktoTape comes in a limited color palette of just blue and green to allow the artist to focus on the quality of the work’s lines and texture. Guided by Ms. Behar, the second graders explored different textures and pattern-making techniques to create a mural of life-size self-portraits along the hallway between the Grades 1 and 2 classrooms.
