Ms. Quintyne’s Pre-K class recently read Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg. The story helps young readers see how they can reshape their thinking to view mistakes (spills, smears, smudges, tears, etc.) as opportunities to make something beautiful. After discussing what it means to have a growth mindset around mistakes, the Pre-Kindergartners were each given a piece of paper with a “mistake” or “squiggle" to transform with watercolors and sharpies into their own “beautiful oopses.”
