Melody Wu ’28 Earns Bronze Medal at American Masters of Mathematics Competition

Melody Wu earned a Bronze Medal at the American Masters of Mathematics (AMM) competition, a national mathematics competition for high school students.

Held in Denver, Colorado, the AMM brings together some of the country's most accomplished young mathematicians to tackle a challenging proof-based exam. Organized by former International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) coaches and medalists, the competition challenges students to solve five advanced mathematical problems over the course of four and a half hours.

Melody competed against more than 180 participants from across the United States and was recognized for her outstanding performance with a Bronze Medal distinction!

A passionate mathematics student, Melody has consistently sought opportunities to deepen her learning beyond the classroom. Her success at the AMM reflects both her dedication to mathematical problem-solving and the curiosity, perseverance, and love of learning that define the RCDS experience.

"Melody's passion for mathematics, combined with her dedication and perseverance, helped her excel in a highly competitive field," said Mr. Mineo, Upper School Mathematics Teacher. "We're thrilled to see her recognized with a Bronze Medal and proud of this outstanding accomplishment."

Congratulations, Melody!
