Seventh-grade science students collaborated with AP Biology students to survey plant species on RCDS’s East Campus.

The research trip across the Boston Post Road was the culmination of an engaging Grade 7 environmental science unit, where the Middle Schoolers learned about biomes, resources found in ecosystems, energy flow, taxonomy, and invasive species. The Upper School students guided their Middle School counterparts in using the Seek by iNaturalist app, which utilizes image recognition technology to identify plants and animals from a database of millions of wildlife observations.
