The Varsity Track & Field team had an impressive performance at the NYSAIS Championships held on Wednesday, May 22, at Icahn Stadium in New York City. Jack de Haan ’24, Keira Zheng ’25, Dorel Dunkley ’25, Amir Hogans ’26, Payton R. ’28, Cate Tucker ’24, Joaquin Gonzalez ’25, Marshall B. ’28, Trey Stevens ’24, and the Boys’ 4x100m Relay Team all medaled in their respective events.
- Jack de Haan ’24: 1st in 3000m Steeplechase
- Keira Zheng ’25: 1st in 400m Hurdles
- Dorel Dunkley ’25: 2nd in Discus
- Amir Hogans ’26: 2nd in Shot Put
- Payton R. ’28: 2nd in 200m
- Cate Tucker ’24: 2nd in High Jump, 2nd in Long Jump
- Joaquin Gonzalez ’25: 3rd in Long Jump, 4th in Triple Jump
- Marshall B. ’28: 4th in 800m
- Trey Stevens ’24: 4th in Shot Put
- Boys’ 4x100m Relay Team (Raihan Bhuiya ’25, Cole Denson ’24, Tyler Perry ’25, Luca Strazzini ’24): 4th Place
Jack, Keira, Dorel, Amir, Payton, and Cate earned First Team All-State honors for their outstanding performance at the NYSAIS Championship.
Marshall B. ’28 (800m), Jocelyn Rice ’27 (Long Jump), Payton R. ’28 (200m), and Keira Zheng ’25 (400m Hurdles) will represent RCDS and compete at the NYS Federation Championship held on Friday, June 7 at Cicero North Syracuse High School.
