Pre-Kindergarten Shares their Original Story and Song with Head of School Mr. Dunn

In December, Head of School Mr. Dunn stopped by Ms. Quintyne’s Pre-Kindergarten class for a read-aloud. He read The Great Gracie Chase: Stop That Dog! by Cynthia Rylant, a story about a dog that treasures peace and quiet but escapes home when noisy painters arrive. A huge community of animals and people come together to find Gracie, before she ultimately returns home.

Following the read aloud, the Pre-K QG class surprised Mr. Dunn and presented their own creative works that they have been developing in class! The avid readers were inspired by the Pete the Cat series by Eric Litwin, so they created a song and story called “Pete the Cat and the Amazing Pizza.” Each Pre-Kindergarten student developed a part of the tale and did a fabulous job of reciting the entire story, from beginning to end.
