In April, Dean of Faculty & Employees Dr. Jessica Flaxman and Upper School Principal Peter Quagliaroli attended the 2024 INDEX Academic Conference in Sarasota, Florida. At this gathering of independent school leaders, senior administrators share current best practices with colleagues from peer independent schools across the United States.

INDEX is a member-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing data, analysis, networking, and professional development to independent schools to aid them in decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning. INDEX member schools have a tradition of collegial collaboration, enabling the network to confidently share experiences, insights, and initiatives.

In the 2024 State of the School report, Head of School Randall Dunn announced Rye Country Day’s partnership with INDEX to support data analysis efforts. INDEX provides RCDS with an opportunity to compare and share data with member schools nationally and regionally.

At this year’s Academic Conference Dr. Flaxman and Mr. Quagliaroli explored topics ranging from generative AI to competencies based learning to parent-school partnerships.
