Enzo Stefanoni ’17 was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week twice this season for his exceptional performance on the hill for UConn. In February, Enzo helped the Huskies earn a win over Louisville, striking out eight and allowing seven hits and no runs in 6.2 innings pitched. In March, he held Florida International to only two hits, giving up no runs and striking out 10 in seven innings pitched.
A graduate transfer at UConn, Enzo’s collegiate baseball career began as an undergraduate student at Harvard University. After his junior season was cut short in 2020 and his senior season canceled by the Ivy League in 2021 due to the pandemic, Enzo entered the transfer portal. As a graduate student at UConn, he has become a key part of the rotation for the Huskies.
During his time at Rye Country Day, Enzo was a two-year captain who played five seasons on the Varsity Baseball team. Enzo etched his name into the history books during his senior year at RCDS, breaking the New York State record for most all-time high school varsity pitching wins with 43 wins.
Congratulations, Enzo! We are so proud of you. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
