RCDS Celebrates Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Rye Country Day School has been celebrating Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month through daily community-wide announcements highlighting AAPI leaders. Advisors and teachers are discussing the featured leaders and their impact on American history, politics, science, education, art, and culture in homerooms and advisories. 

Thus far, RCDS students have learned about and honored trailblazing airforce pilot and research physicist Margaret “Maggie” Gee, Zoom founder Eric Yuan, renowned visual artist Yoyoi Kusama, surgeon and public health leader Atul Gawande, education researcher and CEO of Character Lab Angela Lee Duckworth, architect I.M. Pei, Khan Academy founder Salman "Sal" Khan, acclaimed cellist Yo-yo Ma, and civil rights leader Fred T. Korematsu, among others.

In addition, RCDS employees are creating for the second year in a row the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander Employee Digital Cookbook
