Rye Country Day entered two teams to compete at the safari-themed 2024 TigerHacks Coding Competition, hosted by Greenwich Country Day School, on November 9. This annual competition brings together students from multiple local high schools to tackle challenging problems and celebrate creativity and innovation in computer science. Teams of three students used HackerRank to solve complex coding challenges in C++, Java, and Python.
RCDS students delivered a stellar performance, among 70 competitors. One team finished in first place and the second in fifth. This marks the second consecutive year that RCDS has won first place at TigerHacks.
First Place Team
- Jaymin Ding ’25
- Rhys de Haan ’25

The Upper School Development Club organizes the teams that RCDS sends to compete at TigerHacks, but the competition is open to any Upper School student interested in programming and problem-solving.
“TigerHacks provides an excellent platform for our students to showcase their skills, collaborate as a team, and engage with a wider community of young programmers. Our students’ success is a remarkable testament to their hard work, talent, and dedication and a positive reflection of the RCDS Computer Science program. Congratulations, Wildcats!”
