On November 9, Rye Country Day teachers hosted a special STEAM gathering for fellow educators from Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Twenty-five teachers from across Westchester and the Bronx gathered in the RCDS Makerspace for a night of STEAM professional development and community building. The event offered a collaborative space to brainstorm innovative ideas and projects that teachers can bring into classrooms.
The program featured host presentations from Rye Country Day STEAM faculty detailing various ways they are using cross-disciplinary projects to deepen learning and increase engagement. This is the second annual STEAM Maker Social hosted by RCDS.
“The STEAM Social has become an energizing annual tradition with RCDS and local educators getting together to share ideas and discuss making pedagogy.” – Cathie Bischoff, Director of STEAM
