RCDS Students Honored at Regional Metro and Roger Rees Awards

Four Upper School students and one Middle School student received several regional theater awards and nominations for their outstanding performances and work in RCDS’s production of Les Misérables.

Dominique Alvarez ’26 was nominated for and won the Metro Award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Female-Identified Role for her portrayal of Éponine. Dominique’s performance also earned her a nomination for the Roger Rees Awards. 

Lily Leand ’27 was named a recipient of the Roger Rees Stage Management Fellowship for her leadership as Stage Manager of Les Mis.

Haley Millowitz ’27 received one Metro and one Roger Rees nomination for her portrayal of Madame Thenardier.

Middle Schooler Valentina M. ’33, who played Young Cosette, received a Metro Award nomination.

At the Metro Awards on June 15 at SUNY Purchase, Dominique and Vreeland performed in a number with all the  nominees in their category. Fellow Les Mis cast member Jolie Robinson ’29 performed in the opening number.

Beyond the RCDS Drama Department, Vreeland Tuncer ’26 played Rizzo in Iona Preparatory’s “Grease” and earned a Metro nomination for her performance.
