Four RCDS Upper School students participated in a virtual exchange with students from around the United States and Morocco. There were about 100 participants, including students, facilitators, and teachers. Dan Murray, RCDS Coordinator of Global Studies, also participated as a teacher/facilitator. The program, which was coordinated by Global Education Benchmark Group, connected high school students from across the United States and Morocco and provided them the opportunity to investigate three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in order to learn more about themselves, their peers in other regions and countries, and the significant challenges facing our global community today. The program included synchronous and asynchronous opportunities, and participants collaborated to develop intercultural dialogue for meaningful personal and collective action related to humanitarian and environmental challenges around the world.
“Our students made lasting friendships, practiced important communication skills, and gained confidence sharing their ideas and collaborating. I am excited to utilize feedback from this experience to create more virtual exchange programs for the RCDS community.” —Dan Murray, Coordinator of Global Studies.
