RCDS Students Perform in the Rye Poetry Path’s “Ebb and Flow” Concert Celebrating National Poetry Month

On Sunday, April 24, RCDS Upper School students Alanis A. ’26, Ryan D’Ambrosio ’24, Rosie Isiyel ’25, Lolly Kim ’23, and Sydney Snell ’24 performed at the Rye High School Performing Arts Center in Ebb and Flow, a concert celebrating music and National Poetry Month. RCDS voice teacher Jessica Zamek helped the musicians prepare for this special performance.

Hosted by the Rye Poetry Path, the performance included student musicians from local schools, including RCDS, Rye High School, Rye Neck High School, Hackley School, and Port Chester High School. Students played and sang a curated program of jazz, acoustic, rock, classical, folk, and pop songs that connected with the themes, authors, or history of the selected poems. The evening also included a poetry reading from award-winning poet and RCDS English Department Chair Iain Pollock, who was the Poet in Residence for the Rye Poetry Path, curating more than 80 poems currently being installed at Edith Read Nature Preserve, Rye Town Park, and Rye Nature Center.

Thank you to Rye Poetry Path and our fellow schools for a wonderful community evening!
